Though originally from New York City, Mike started swing dancing in Ithaca, NY in 2000 and later formed the performance troupe Rooftop Mayhem.  Upon his return to the city, he studied with 8 time Lindy Hop world champions Yuval Hod and Nathalie Gomes at Hop, Swing, and a Jump for several years.  In 2006, Mike spent a year in Albany, NY teaching and DJing at a weekly swing dance.  He then returned to NYC and began teaching at Hop Swing and a Jump where he met his current partner, Rachel McMullin.  In addition to You Should Be Dancing, Mike and Rachel teach Saturday and Sunday evenings at Swing 46.  They are also active in the swing dance community and can be seen at most of the social dancing venues around the city.
